Before I shed light on some of my favorite local businesses I feel the need to say:
I will forever admire, support, and share about small business shopping.. but I do think there is a fine line between community encouragement and... shaming. Fact is, shopping small and sustainable is still a luxury lots of people can’t afford. I won't shake my finger at those who do what they need to make magic happen. At the end of the day we’re all doing our best for the people we love with what we have. We all want happy healthy kids and family members delighted on Christmas morning. I know for us, we live as simply as possible throughout the year with conscious effort to buy mainly what we need and sometimes that means leaning on the convenience of amazon, and other times it means shopping second hand, handmade and small business. With that, I hope people recognize what a privilege it is to get to shop local, small, and handmade and try and use that privilege by buying local / small whenever they can. In support of Jackson, TN local businesses, here are some of my favorites..
